Dirty, not as described, run down, very unsatisfied
You cannot use more than one water source in the house and maintain water pressure in another area. The toilets ran constantly and wouldn't flush half the time. There are holes in many of the towels and all appear old and stained. Some of the shower heads hardly work. The rugs - filthy and old. Everything is run down.
Despite airing the rooms it smelled like a combination of mold and oil. We were all uncomfortable with the scent and some of us woke up with sore throats.
Only one burner works in the downstairs kitchen and the upstairs kitchen was filthy. There was leftover perishable food in the upstairs fridge that was rotting.
One of the upstairs bedrooms had a broken air conditioner that we were told would be fixed at some point when arrived. It was not attended to and the room could not be used. We have since read other reviews of the property on Airbnb and people have noted that the air conditioner was broken a few months ago showing us that there is inconsistency in advertising and a specific lack of care going on here, especially given the fact that there appears to be a caretaker living here 24/7. The caretaker was not listed as living onsite in the description of the house. I called the management company the night of our arrival after we discovered the extent of the dirt, mold smell, broken A/C in the room, and the appearance of the on-site manager living in the back room (not ever disclosed to us). We were told by the management company that he did not live on site, but clearly he did. Based on other reviews stating his 24 hr presence and that we saw him go to the gate and then disappear again into the back room that appeared to be his dwelling. It was not discussed in pre-travel arrangements or in person upon arrival that he lived on site. Sharing a residence with this person and that was not disclosed to us was very uncomfortable as we did not agree to this. We were also told my the management company on the first night that they felt that the property was described appropriately in the website description and that they did not feel responsible.
This house was significantly more expensive than most. Had I paid half the price I would expected this quality, however, we specifically sought out a quiet and clean refuge which was not the case.
We left the house after one night and went to a hotel and have asked for refund.
